Event opportunities

We offer a large variety of event opportunities for engagement with students. We have worked with employers to deliver events targeting specific widening participation groups including:

  • Webinars for students with a disability – These events encourage conversations around disability disclosure, application and identity.
  • Events for Black, Asian and Minority ethnic group students – In the past this has included a ‘Meet the Professionals’ event for University Alumni and networking events organised by sector industries.
  • Women in STEM campaigns – We can promote your women in STEM initiatives by helping facilitate events or workshops.
  • Skills or insight sessions for students from lower socio-economic backgrounds – These sessions can provide application advice or insight into a sector for students who may not have established networks or previous experience.

N.B. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all our events are being delivered online until further notice. We can work with you to support and facilitate the online delivery of events during this period.

Students’ Union Societies Directory

The University of Manchester Students’ Union is home to many student societies that represent a large range of different groups, nationalities and cultures.

Connecting directly with these societies is a great way to directly engage with students; you may wish to consider providing mentoring programmes, event sponsorship or promoting internships or work experience opportunities through the society networks.

The University of Manchester Students’ Union societies page allows you to search societies and find their contact details.
